We have been established since 2010.
We are Certified Instructors for the NRA in handgun, rifle, shotgun, personal protection in the home & gun safety. We are also Certified Instructors for Kentucky Concealed Carry Deadly Weapons (CCW Classes) and Trainers for Instructors of Kentucky Concealed Carry Deadly Weapons. We have been shooting and performing maintenance on rifles, handguns and shotguns for 60+ years. We have our own ranges, so travel is not needed.
Our outdoor ranges maintenance is done by us so we know the status of each one of them. We do not rent, lend or lease our personal firearms or the ranges. If a firearm is needed for a course by a student, they must tell us the reason, or their firearm has failed our inspection. During special courses that are advertised, we may supply the firearm, but it will be stated in the advertisement. Generally, our courses require the student to bring their own firearm and factory loaded ammunition.
Training for the Practical Gun Owner.
We pride ourselves on SAFETY FIRST. You are never too old or experienced to be safe when it comes to guns. It isn't the gun that kills, maims or injures, it is the person handling that gun. Safety is paramount in our classroom, on the range and our property. We do not condone improper handling when it comes to guns.
The standard CCDW training course is for those wishing to obtain a Kentucky State permit to carry a concealed weapon.
The course covers the legal and moral aspects of the use of deadly force. Students will also need to demonstrate safe and accurate use of a firearm. This course is comprised of at least 6 hours classroom work and <=2 hours on the range.
Although you may use any serviceable handgun for this course, it is highly recommended that you use the pistol or revolver that you intend to use for Concealed Carry.
Students are permitted one re-shoot if they fail the first test.
Upon satisfactorily passing the written and shooting range tests, those results will be sent to the Dept. of Justice of Kentucky. In return, a certificate of training will be sent to you from the Dept. of Justice.
Please bring a sack lunch.
This is a 2 day training, instruction and testing course for men and women that currently have a CCDW permit and wish to become a CCDW Instructor in the State of Kentucky. All course materials are provided. The live fire segment of the course is of a higher standard than that used for general CCDW. Please bring your handgun and factory loaded ammunition for it. Also bring a sack lunch. Upon satisfactorily passing the written and shooting range tests, those results will be sent to the Dept. of Justice of Kentucky. This course has been designed for male and female students and replaces the NRA Basic Pistol course that we have suspended from our current curriculum, pending clarification of the course being made on line for some or all. It is designed for students who have no prior knowledge of handguns and wish to learn the basics of handguns prior to buying one. It will also serve as a starting point for those wishing to acquire skills for both target shooting and self-defense. Although this is not an NRA course, students will still learn the NRA rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, two handed standing positions, and cleaning the pistol. By the time you leave this course you will feel more comfortable and confident with your safe handling of handguns and shooting skills. Please bring your own handgun if you have one and the correct factory loaded ammunition for it. A suitable handgun can be provided if required with a charge for the cost of the ammunition used. Please bring a sack lunch.
This course teaches the basic use of the shotgun as a home defense weapon. The Shotgun is the most popular choice for home defense, as it has maximum stopping ability for use in a confined area.
This course is suitable for men and women of all ages who may feel they want to be able to defend themselves in a home invasion situation. Students will be introduced to the Taurus Judge Handgun which will shoot a .410 shotgun shell as well as a .45 long Colt, and the pump and tactical shotguns that are popular. The course has more emphasis on home defense. Students may bring their own shotgun & ammo for this course, but it must be a production weapon, no sawed off or illegal modifications are allowed. Range time includes walk and shoot and home invasion.
We do hold courses during the week, but we have revised our practice in order to facilitate these requests. We will always put a course on midweek if we have 4 or more people per booking. However, it may not always be possible for a person to find 3 or more students on a particular day to schedule it.
We have introduced a system where prospective candidates can call in and ask to be placed on the weekday list. Weekday courses will then be formed from this list and arranged directly with the students who wish to attend.
These courses will not be advertised in advance, but we will accept extra students once a course is initially scheduled. If you are interested, please call or email us with your contact details.
In addition to our regular courses we can also offer one on one instruction and special group courses during weekdays, and possibly weekends.
Minimum group = 4 people
Maximum group = 10 people

But in the case of concealed carry training, the state of Kentucky realizes that you may carry different guns for different concealed carry situations depending upon clothing and you may qualify with any handgun.
